We are a private, independently owned, family-oriented optometry office serving Norwood Park and its neighboring communities. We are looking for an energetic, detail oriented, friendly, multi-tasker and reliable staff member to join our team! The main role is of an optician but since we are a small office, you will also need to help out with the front desk and work up patients for the doctor when necessary.

1-2 years of experience. Looking to hire immediately.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Excellent sales skills and interpersonal skills
  • Custom fitting of glasses based on our extensive frame selections
  • Demonstrate exceptional product knowledge and accurately describe the features and benefits of our lens selection
  • Educate clients on cutting-edge technology to meet their visual and lifestyle needs
  • Using your optical knowledge to take and record measurements and ensure the finished eyewear meets optical standards and customer requirements
  • Dispensing Glasses and Frame adjustments
  • Ensure all orders are processed accurately and on time
  • Maintain inventory of frames and contact lens trials

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Great with people - warm, friendly and helpful in person and on the phone
  • Positive outlook and upbeat personality
  • Ability to work with diverse patient population, including pediatrics
  • Excellent sales skills
  • Superior customer service skills and strong people skills — you're approachable, a good listener, and empathetic
  • Demonstrates proficient computer skills (word processing, email, internet, Excel, etc.)
  • Be extremely organized and can multi-task
  • Attention to detail
  • Ready to learn and adapt well to a different environment
  • Ability to excel under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Possesses excellent communication skills that let you converse as freely and comfortably with small groups as with individual customers
