Job Description
Under direction, supervises and is responsible for various craft workers engaged in buildings and grounds maintenance, repair, and related activities and performs related work as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Supervises and assigns duties to staff while ensuring that the quality and progress of assigned work meets standards.
May also interact and assign work orders to otherFacilities Services Personnel as deemed necessary.
Receives and processes service requests concerning the inspection, maintenance, and repair of all buildings systems.
Maintains supply inventory and places orders as needed.
Maintains payroll and work records.
Prepares various reports and correspondence.
Inspects buildings systems in response to requests, to identify deficiencies and recommendimprovements.
Oversees all aspects of building projects, including permitting, regulatory compliance, construction workflow, coordination, and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Plans and coordinates staff training programs.
Coordinates and performs preventative maintenance on mechanical and building service systems, including heating and ventilation, refrigeration, fire alarm and pumping systems, and kitchen and therapy pool equipment by inspecting, testing, cleaning, and lubricating machinery and equipment to ensure optimal operation and prevent failures.
Monitors and repairs automatic temperature and humidity control systems and/or other mechanical and building systems, including replacing defective parts to restore proper functionality.
The 7203Buildings And Grounds Maintenance Supervisor may perform other duties as assigned/required.
Experience
Six (6) years of experience operating, maintaining and repairing a wide variety of mechanical, electrical, pumping, heating, air conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration and related plant machinery and systems found in large industrial, production, commercial or institutional buildings, of which two (2) years must have been in a supervisory capacity directing the operation and maintenance activities of subordinate personnel; AND
License and Certification
Possession of a Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certificate issued by the Federal Environmental Protection Agency for working with heating and ventilating equipment (HVAC) or other refrigeration equipment using CFCs and HCFCs; AND
Possession of a valid class “C” Driver license

One year of full-time employment is equivalent to 2000 hours. (2000 hours of qualifying work experience is based on a 40 hours work week.)
