Food For The Poor, one of the largest international relief and development organizations in the nation, does much more than feed millions of the hungry poor primarily in 17 countries of the Caribbean and Latin America. This interdenominational Christian ministry provides emergency relief assistance, clean water, medicines, educational materials, homes, support for orphans and the aged, skills training and micro-enterprise development assistance. Overall Responsibility:

The Studio Operations Specialist is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the studio, ensuring smooth functioning and maintaining the highest standards of production. This role combines technical expertise with organizational skills to support multimedia production, equipment maintenance, and studio scheduling. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creative media and a proactive approach to supporting the mission and goals of the organization.

*Multimedia production skills are a huge plus. MUST HAVE experience operating machines like COMREX Access / AxiaQ0R16 consoles / Black Magic ATEM switchers / PTZ Cameras and Joystick controllers.

**Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, or irregular hours "as needed" for production schedules.

***This is position is for a local hire in Southeast Florida who must be available to come to FFTP headquarters in Coconut Creek every day. WFH may be possible occasionally.

Duties & Key Responsibilities:

Studio Operations and Maintenance

  • Oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of studio equipment, including cameras, lighting, audio, and recording devices.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure optimal functionality, performing routine maintenance and coordinating repairs as needed.
  • MUST HAVE experience operating machines like COMREX Access / AxiaQ0R16 consoles / Black Magic ATEM switchers / PTZ Cameras and Joystick controllers.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe studio environment in compliance with safety standards and organizational guidelines.
  • Manage the inventory of studio equipment and supplies, ensuring availability for all productions.

Production Support

  • Assist in planning and executing studio productions, including video shoots, live broadcasts, podcasts, and other multimedia projects.
  • Provide on-site technical support during productions, ensuring seamless execution and addressing technical issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with content creators, directors, and other team members to achieve desired creative outcomes.
  • Operate production equipment as needed, including cameras, audio mixers, lighting consoles, and editing software.

Scheduling and Coordination

  • Coordinate studio schedules, balancing multiple projects and ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Serve as the point of contact for internal and external stakeholders using the studio, ensuring clear communication and logistical support.
  • Assist in planning and implementing training sessions for staff and volunteers on the use of studio equipment and production processes.

Process Improvement and Innovation

  • Research and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance studio capabilities and improve production quality.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for studio operations and production workflows.
  • Contribute to the creative vision of projects by offering technical insights and innovative solutions.

Education and Experience:

  • This is not Entry level.
  • Bachelor’s degree in media production, communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Or a degree in studio, A/V and/or web production is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with live streaming is strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred. French, Creole and other languages also a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in studio operations, multimedia production, or a related role.
  • Proven experience operating and maintaining audio-visual equipment and production software. Nonprofit or mission-driven organization experience is a plus.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proficiency in production software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools.
  • Strong technical skills in studio equipment, including cameras, audio recording devices, and lighting systems.
  • Multimedia production skills are a huge plus.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with strong attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues under tight deadlines.
  • Live Stream video production experience. Webcast or line producing experience.
  • Comfort working in studio environments, which may involve long periods of standing, bending, or climbing ladders.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or irregular hours as needed for production schedules.
  • Still photography, Studio Camera operation, Studio Audio operation, Video and audio editing.
  • Studio technology maintenance Axia QOR console (audio mixing console). Adobe Premier Pro (video editor). Adobe Audition (audio editor)
