The Challenge

Security management is a fundamental pillar of intelligence operations. Every cleared position within the Department of Defense (DoD) depends on the efficient and effective execution of Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) management functions.

As a Special Security Representative with JCTM, you will play a vital role in executing SCI security programs, providing critical security office services and SCI management functions for military, civilian, and contractor personnel. Your responsibilities will span physical, personnel, information, and industrial security , ensuring compliance with Intelligence Community (IC), DoD, and Department of the Navy (DoN) standards .

This role requires expertise in managing multiple complex tasks , requiring a mix of innovation and practical problem-solving . You will work independently and collaboratively , using risk management principles to make security decisions that impact national security operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Intelligence Officer (SIO) in the formulation and implementation of SCI security goals, policies, and procedures.
• Prepare detailed reports on security incidents, classified material incidents, and other findings.
• Review new and proposed legislation , draft updates to DoD, IC, and DoN guidance, and provide recommendations based on security risk management best practices.
• Provide guidance and training to subordinate squadron-level organizations and personnel on SCI security principles.
• Develop, maintain, and conduct SCI security education, training, and awareness programs , ensuring compliance with Executive Order 13526.
• Implement DIA SCIF accreditation standards , including physical security separation, TEMPEST requirements, and compliance for Automated Information Systems .
• Ensure all personnel meet and maintain security clearance requirements under relevant policies.
• Manage facility badge access and maintain accurate documentation.
• Perform security duties related to Physical Security, Access Control, and Personnel Security , ensuring classified information remains protected.

You Have

• Active TS/SCI clearance
• 3+ years of security management experience , preferably in an SCI environment*
• In-depth knowledge of IC, DoD, and DoN governing policies for SCI security
• Experience with security planning, operations, and implementation
• Prior experience handling GSA containers and classified document control
• Familiarity with Defense Information Security System (DISS)
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs

*Education beyond a high school diploma may be substituted for experience requirements.

Nice to Have

• Special Security Officer (SSO) certification or equivalent training
• DoD 5105.21 V 1-4 certifications
• Knowledge of ICPG 704.2, ICD/ICS 705, DoD 5205.07, and NISPOM policies
• Expertise in SCIF operations management
• Familiarity with SCI nomination processes
• Experience in a military or intelligence environment
• Associate degree or equivalent progress in a degree program

Clearance

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. TS/SCI clearance is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance .
