Senior Staff Accountant - Arlington, VA

Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a local client in Arlington, VA in their search for a Senior Staff Accountant to join their growing team. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity offering the chance to take ownership of core accounting functions, support financial reporting, and contribute to process improvements across the department.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in general accounting, experience supporting month-end close processes, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP

• Perform account reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts

• Support month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals and financial statement preparation

• Assist in the development and review of monthly financial reports and internal management reporting packages

• Maintain and update general ledger accounts, ensuring completeness and accuracy

• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure proper classification and recording of financial transactions

• Support the preparation of schedules for internal and external audits

• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and support automation initiatives

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis as needed

• Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation and records

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles

• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities

• CPA or CPA track is a plus
