$16/hour plus a service charge!

Job Summary:

The Catering Server is responsible to provide a high degree of hospitality to guests at catered events hosted at Canterbury Park. The server will serve food and beverage and attend to catered events in an efficient and courteous manner. Responsible for supporting the Companies mission, vision, and values by providing fun and games like no place else, and adheres to the Canterbury Way by focusing on our core values.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead by example.
  • Responsible for maintaining a high degree of hospitality, as well as a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
  • Creates high levels of morale, fosters teamwork, inspires collaboration, and provides suggestions for growth to management.
  • Monitor and maintain the buffet in their assigned area.
  • Assist Catering II with plated meal service.
  • Under direct supervision by the Catering management team and culinary supervisory staff in executing catered events such as large dinners and receptions and small served events.
  • Set-up & tear down buffets, table settings, beverage stations, chef performance stations and other service styles.
  • Work closely with the culinary team to ensure food is replenished timely.
  • Ensure requisition forms are completed to prep for the next day's needs.
  • Maintain prompt and courteous customer service to all guests throughout the day.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • Must have 1 years or more of experience in Catering and Events or related field; OR any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skill and abilities have been achieved.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Providing exceptional service to our guests during events.
  • Must be willing to pitch in with other departments based on business need.
  • Must be detail oriented, have strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Must be able to pass Canterbury Park's pre-employment screening which includes a criminal background check and verification of work history.
  • Must be able to attain a Minnesota Racing Commission (MRC) license.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous cash handling experience preferred.
