Your Role as a School Counselor - Provide first aid and manage medical emergencies, including communication with families, EMS, and physicians.
- Maintain up-to-date medical records, physicals, and immunizations for all students.
- Communicate with families, physicians, and healthcare teams; develop and implement Individualized Health Plans.
- Manage and administer medications, ensure proper storage, maintain documentation, and train staff on emergency meds (e.g., EpiPens, inhalers).
- Track and report medication administration and errors; ensure all physician orders are on file.
- Implement and monitor infection control protocols, including illness tracking, parent notification, and communication with the health department.
- Follow safety procedures, including use of PPE and safe crisis management techniques.
Required Qualifications: - Current licensure by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
- A minimum of two years' experience providing nursing services to children (preferred)
- Valid Virginia Driver's License
