Job Description

The Texas Chiropractic Association is seeking a motivated, dynamic and detail-oriented Marketing & Events Director . In this role, you would be in charge of TCAs marketing and communications initiatives by developing strategies to expand membership, drive attendance at events, and engage members. The Marketing and Events Director also manages TCAs website, social media and app, and is in charge of planning conferences and special events.

This position reports to the Executive Director and is perfect for someone with 3+ years of experience in associations with a customer service mind-set, excellent communications skills, and is organized and can manage multiple projects.

NOTE : This will be a hybrid position with weekly in-office responsibilities in Austin, Texas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Produce high-impact, targeted and actionable marketing content for all distribution channels to attract and retain members, promote products and services, drive attendance at conferences and events, and increase engagement.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining marketing, communications and events calendars.
  • Develop and launch marketing and membership campaigns and measure their effectiveness.
  • Plan, create editorial content and publish Texas Chiropractic eSource and Chiro Connect , TCAs bi-weekly newsletters.
  • Ensure all marketing adheres to branding guidelines.
  • Manage the associations website, social media channels and app in conjunction with the associations policy and business objectives.
  • Create and implement public relations campaigns that meet the organizations strategic goals, increase consumer awareness and positively promote TCA and chiropractic in Texas.
  • Plan TCA in-person and hybrid conferences and special events, including researching and touring venues, negotiating and managing vendor contracts, meeting budget goals, and coordinating logistics and services, including technology, additional contractors, food and beverage, transportation, lodging, etc.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to identify and solicit potential sponsors and exhibitors for Chiro Texpo, TCAs annual state convention, as well as conferences and special events.
  • Work with the contracted meeting planner on Chiro Texpo, managing the exhibit hall, serving as staff liaison for speakers, managing the annual awards gala and providing on-site support.
  • Assist TCA districts with meeting planning needs, including registration and promotion.
  • In collaboration with the Executive Director, staffs the Education & Events Committee, Public Relations & Communications Committee, Next Gen Chiropractors Committee, and Membership Committee.
  • Provides staff support, including answering phone calls, monitoring the email accounts, promptly responding to inquiries, and assisting with membership recruitment and retention initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelors degree (preferably in marketing, communications or a related field) or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience, especially in an association environment.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven understanding of marketing and branding principles.
  • Experience in website/database management.
  • Knowledge of social media and emerging trends.
  • Background in customer service and member relations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities and create marketing/communications plans.
  • Comfortable working both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
