About the Role
The Company is seeking a Lower School Principal to lead its PS-3 through Grade 5 division. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a vibrant community of over 260 students and more than 45 faculty and staff members. This role involves building upon the work of the past years, including faculty-wide training in the Responsive Classroom approach and the recent shift to a research-based literacy curriculum. The Principal will be supported by two Assistant Principals and a dedicated support services team, and will have the opportunity to work with a diverse community of learners, including a team of 'specials teachers' in various subjects. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Lower School leader and a skilled teacher, with a deep love for children and a strong presence in the classroom. They should have a proven track record of supporting teachers in curricular and classroom management initiatives, and be a culturally competent visionary educator with a commitment to equity, inclusion, and belonging. The role requires a warm and approachable demeanor, with the ability to be kind yet firm, reflective, and collaborative. The Principal will be expected to be passionate about education, committed to knowing every child, and an active listener, leading the school in its quest for continuous improvement.
