Interpreter/Translator - Executive Assistant

Columbus, OH

A Global Automotive supplier is looking for a Executive Assistant/ Interpreter/Translator to join their team. Company offers:

Position Summary

• Provide highly proficient interpretation, either simultaneous or consecutive, for Executives during meetings, conferences, interviews, or any other work-related events. Record and translate written documents, while preserving their relevant meaning, format and tone in a confidential manner.
• Managing the executive's schedule.
• Coordinating the schedules for meetings involving multiple departments, companies including executives.
• Collecting internal information and supporting the creation of various documents prepared by the executives.
• Participating in web conferences with Japan (early morning/evening).
• Record and translate Japanese documents, presentations, board/meeting notes, or any other work-related documents by using computer-assisted translation software tools i.e., Trados between English and Japanese, and reviewing for accuracy.
• Perform simultaneous and consecutive interpretation via Teams/virtual platforms or in-person meetings.
• Provide project support for Executives in the Americas region for special events.
• Provide excellent reporting skills, documentation management, written and oral communication.
• Pre preparation for meetings, i.e., layout, headphones, microphones, etc.
• Maintain strict confidentiality in dealing with sensitive information.
• Other tasks as required by Executive Management.

Job Requirements

• Highly proficient in both English and Japanese, orally and written.
• Simultaneous and consecutive interpretation skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year college or university or equivalent of technical school; or four or more years related field experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Four years translation and interpretation experience; business and technical
• Excellent oral and written translation skills between Japanese and English. Japanese and English language ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, procedure manuals, business correspondence or governmental regulations with little or no preparation.
