\nOur Level 1 Trauma Center, UPMC Presbyterian, a Magnet designated hospital , is hiring Full-Time Registered Nurses to support various units throughout our facility. UPMC Presbyterian is located in the heart of Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood. UPMC Presbyterian is a recognized leader in organ transplants, renowned teaching hospital, and a center for ongoing cutting-edge research.
\nService Lines Hiring:
\nThe Cardiothoracic Service Line encompasses five units focused on the care of cardiac, pulmonary, and vascular patients. We specialize in LVADs, cystic fibrosis, heart, lung and bone marrow transplant on units 3E, 4D/5D, 7D, 9D, 10D/10G. Nursing and patient care services have the opportunity to provide innovative therapies and cutting-edge treatments with a focus on patient-family centered relationship.
\nThe Medicine Service Line at UPMC Presbyterian is a significant service supporting our academic teaching program mission. Units 12S, 12N, 11S, 10E/W, 10S, 8N, 7G span across both the Presbyterian and Montefiore buildings, with over 150 beds. These units care for chronic and acute medical conditions including but not limited to pulmonary, cardiovascular, neurological, and infectious diseases.
\nThe Trauma Neuro Service Line at UPMC Presbyterian is a dynamic service supporting the hospital’s Comprehensive Stroke Certification as well as the Level 1 Trauma designation. The units in this service line include: 5G, 6D, 7F, 8D, 8G, 9G, and 12D. These units care for any patient with an acute injury of the brain or spinal cord as well as provide the post operative care for the neurosurgical patient population.
\nThe Transplant & Inpatient Surgery Service Line consists of several departments all with a unique surgically based focus. Each unit is staffed by nurses who are specialists in their respective fields and provide compassionate care and clinical excellence: 5E/W, 8W, 9N, 10N, 11N, 11E/W.

\nThe Professional Staff Nurse provides highly competent patient care and treatment while demonstrating empathy and a passion for learning. A role that requires independent judgment, fluent communication, and candid partnership, the Professional Staff Nurse establishes relationships with physicians, other care providers, patients, and patients’ families to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care.
\nAs a Professional Staff Nurse and a member of the care delivery team, you will set the standards for the level and quality of nursing care and possess authority and accountability for its provision. At all times, you will exemplify a commitment to the community and to the nursing profession.

The final job title and pay rate will be based on individual qualifications and candidate choice. Any required certifications and contributions based on job title will be afforded a timeframe to obtain. Our competitive career ladder, as well as our Total Rewards package, will be discussed at the time of offer to ensure you can make the choices that are right for you. The minimum rate of pay for a non-BSN Professional Staff Nurse is $34.25/hour.
Graduate Nurses must be eligible for State Board Licensure and successfully pass the examination before beginning this role OR ability to start with TPP and must obtain license within 4 months of beginning position. Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary from the My Nursing Career Ladder based on their individual experience and education.
