Job Title: Funeral Home Assistant
Location: Lee-Ellena Funeral Home
Job Type: Full-time/Part-time
Reports To: Funeral Director

Job Summary:

Lee-Ellena Funeral Home is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Funeral Home Assistant to support funeral directors in providing exceptional service to families during their time of need. The ideal candidate will assist with funeral services, administrative tasks, and general maintenance of the funeral home while upholding the highest level of professionalism and care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist funeral directors in preparing for services, visitations, and memorials.
• Greet and assist families and guests, ensuring a warm and comforting environment.
• Set up chapels, hospitality areas, and other facilities for services.
• Assist with the transportation of the deceased, including removals and transfers.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the funeral home, including chapels, lounges, and common areas.
• Handle administrative tasks such as filing documents, answering phone calls, and managing schedules.
• Arrange flowers, photos, and memorabilia for services as requested by families.
• Drive funeral home vehicles, including hearses and limousines, as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and funeral industry regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the funeral home operations.

Qualifications & Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in customer service, hospitality, or a funeral home setting is a plus.
• Experienced in Microsoft Office
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to handle emotional situations with empathy and professionalism.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
