Job Description

A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is needed to provide specialized speech and language services for early childhood students (ages 2-5) in an early intervention setting located in Dover, DE. This contract role spans the full school year and focuses on supporting children with a broad range of communication needs to promote success in preschool and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in early childhood students.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Deliver direct therapy services through individual, small group, or classroom-integrated sessions.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to integrate speech and language goals into daily curriculum.
• Monitor student progress and maintain detailed records in accordance with federal and state guidelines.
• Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility assessments, and transition planning conferences.
• Support early intervention and inclusive preschool special education programs.
• Engage in professional development to remain current on best practices and legal requirements in speech-language pathology.

Qualifications:

• Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Valid state licensure and/or certification (ASHA CCC-SLP or Clinical Fellowship Year eligible; appropriate state educator certification if required).
• Experience working with preschool-aged children, preferably in public school or early intervention settings.
• Strong knowledge of child development, early literacy, play-based learning, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Preferred Experience:

• Working with diverse student populations.
• Familiarity with IDEA, Section 504, and special education eligibility procedures.
