The Impact You'll Make

Nextdoor is growing its Finance & Strategy team and we are looking for a Corporate Finance Associate/Senior Associate who be a part of a world-class Corporate Finance function. You'll play a critical part in influencing company-wide decision-making at Nextdoor, guiding company-wide financial planning, supporting our Investor Relations efforts, and scaling new and existing processes.

You are right for this role if you are passionate about creating value through insightful analysis that drives business decisions. You enjoy building strong cross-functional relationships to help the company understand how all the pieces fit together, and can influence without authority. You see the bigger picture, excel at juggling multiple priorities, and consistently go above and beyond. You also exhibit a high attention to detail and strong analytical skills. This position will be based in San Francisco and will report to the Corporate Finance Lead. Our team embraces a hybrid working environment, with in-office presence required at least 2-3 days a week (Tuesday - Thursday).

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Own the consolidated financial model, including forecasting, budgeting, resource allocation, and long-range planning
  • Support financial management reporting including our monthly/quarterly close processes, preparation of board materials, and development of ad-hoc presentations for senior leadership
  • Participate in our quarterly and annual financial and strategic planning process by coordinating forecasts, communicating with senior leadership, and guiding investment strategies
  • Partner with business unit leadership to develop budgets and forecasts, analyzing and communicating the financial impact across the company
  • Conduct deep dive analyses into important trends that influence the financial model and use the findings to update the model when necessary
  • Develop KPIs to track team and company-level performance and identify opportunities for growth or increased efficiency
  • Improve our Corporate Finance function by implementing new processes/policies and improving controls
  • Participate in in-person Nextdoor events such as trainings, off-sites, volunteer days, and team building exercises
  • Build in-person relationships with team members and contribute to Nextdoor's company culture
What You'll Bring To The Team
  • 3-to-6 years of relevant experience, including 2-3 years of financial modeling (e.g., investment banking, private equity, finance at high-growth companies)
  • Highly analytical and inquisitive work style, digging in deep when necessary without losing sight of the bigger picture
  • Excellent communications skills and an ability to build strong relationships. You're able to effectively partner and influence people at all levels across the organization
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (you will use Google Sheets as well)
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of the social media, digital advertising, or consumer internet industries
  • Experience with financial planning software (i.e., Adaptive, Anaplan, etc.) is a plus
  • A sense of humor is always a plus
Rewards

Compensation, benefits, perks, and recognition programs at Nextdoor come together to create our total rewards package. Compensation will vary depending on your relevant skills, experience, and qualifications. Compensation may also vary by geography.

The starting salary for this role is expected to range from $125,000 to $145,000 on an annualized basis, or potentially greater in the event that your 'level' of proficiency exceeds the level expected for the role.

We expect to award a meaningful equity grant for this role. With equal quarterly vesting, your first vest date will take place within 3 months of your start date.

When it comes to benefits, we have you covered! Nextdoor employees can choose between a variety of health plans, including a 100% covered employee only plan option, and we also provide a OneMedical membership for concierge care.

At Nextdoor, we empower our employees to build stronger local communities. To create a platform where all feel welcome, we want our workforce to reflect the diversity of the neighbors we serve. We encourage everyone interested in our mission to apply. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, age, or any other trait that unfairly targets a group of people. In accordance with the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we always consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
