Our organization is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Permanent Project Construction Accountant to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of our construction projects. This includes but is not limited to construction draws, loan draws, job costing, project costing, and project budgeting.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the construction industry, with a deep understanding of the financial intricacies involved in large-scale projects. They will be tasked with ensuring financial accuracy and integrity throughout the lifecycle of our projects, from initial budgeting to final cost reconciliation. This role requires a high level of analytical skill, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all financial aspects of construction projects, including construction draws, loan draws, job costing, project costing, and project budgeting.
  • Prepare regular financial reports for management, summarizing project costs and highlighting any significant variances from the budget.
  • Work closely with project managers to develop accurate and comprehensive project budgets.
  • Monitor project expenditures, ensuring that all costs are accurately recorded and allocated to the correct project and budget line.
  • Conduct regular financial audits on active projects to ensure financial accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide financial forecasts, helping to guide decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and provide all necessary information for annual audits.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including GAAP.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction accounting.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction draws, loan draws, job costing, project costing, and project budgeting.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide clear and concise reports.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial colleagues.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Familiarity with GAAP and other relevant financial regulations and standards.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
