Responsibilities—Assistant Service Manager:

  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the Service Department to ensure maximum efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor a team of service technicians and advisors to ensure high-quality work and exceptional customer service.
  • Ensure that all service work is completed according to dealership and factory standards.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as customer satisfaction (CSI), technician productivity, and department profitability.
  • Manage service department schedules, ensuring optimal staffing and timely completion of work orders.
  • Handle customer concerns and complaints in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Work closely with the Parts Department to ensure parts availability and inventory management.
  • Review and approve service orders and estimates, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
  • Maintain compliance with dealership policies, factory requirements, and safety standards.
  • Stay up to date with automotive industry trends and technologies to provide relevant solutions.
  • Drive and support factory and dealership-sponsored training programs for service team development.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Service Department, ensuring a safe and productive work environment.

 


Qualifications—Assistant Service Manager:

 

  • Proven experience as in the Automotive Service Department or in a similar leadership role is preferred but not required.
  • Strong understanding of service department operations, including workflow, customer service, and profitability.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and help lead a team.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index).
  • Experience with Tekion is a PLUS!
  • Previous Service Experience with CDJR is a PLUS.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
  • Proficiency in DMS software and understanding of automotive service operations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional automotive certifications or management training is a plus.
